Experience has shown scooter trips to last around 90 minutes, including getting changed prior and following to the ride as well as a short induction. This can however vary considerably and take more or less time. For groups of 15 or more, it’s better to allow 120 minutes to complete the trip.
If minors want to ride alone, a parent or legal guardian is required to give consent.
Prior reservation is recommended for groups of 15 people or more. We are happy to accept reservations upon prepayment and a concrete booking. Cancellations resulting in a full refund can be made up to 7 days before the scooter trip.
It’s simple: bookings can be made by phone, fax or mail – you will receive immediate confirmation of your reservation and invoice (with VAT stated separately).
In order to make a booking we require your postal address and mobile phone number.
The booking is confirmed upon transferral of the invoiced amount.
The scooter track is for those with a normal level of fitness and good physical condition (for example, no cardiac problems or poor circulation). Sturdy, closed shoes and durable hiking clothes with long trousers are required. For further information please consult here:
For regular scooter trips we ask participants to meet 15 minutes before the start time at the back of the top cable car station where scooters are issued and to be at the valley cable car station cash desk 60 minutes in advance to allow for waiting times during high season. At this cash desk it is always possible to find out how many scooters are available at the time. Scooter riders receive a 2 Euro reduction on the price of the Schauinsland cable car and a scooter is automatically made available at the top station. For young people up to 14 years, the ascent with the Schauinslandbahn costs € 6,50.
We have a maximum of 50 scooters, which are rarely all in use. If you want to make sure you get to go on a scooter trip, give us a ring on our hotline (07 61) 2 64 68 to check if scooters are available.
For further information please consult here.
The Schauinsland cable car, the longest continuous cable car in Germany, is a special event in itself. Price reductions are available if using both the Schauinsland cable car and the scooter rides:
We recommend using the Schauinsland cable car.
For quick and easy information on whether regular scooter trips are taking place in changeable weather conditions please check the traffic light. Please use our weather information and the webcam images from the top part of the track.
